    FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Northeastern Indiana Kennel Club (NEIKC) is proud to announce the 2009 Old Fort Cluster Dog Show at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, to be held Wednesday, October 28 through Sunday, November 1.
    Admission for this year’s show is free, however, guests are asked to bring a pet food item to be donated to the Community Harvest Food Bank.
    This is the largest fall dog show in the Midwest, featuring over 156 registered breeds. On both Saturday and Sunday, over 1,700 dogs will be shown each day. Purina is once again the official sponsor of the Old Fort Cluster Dog Show, hosted by the NEIKC, along with the LaPorte County, Sturgis and Marion Kennel Clubs.
    This five-day dog show will not only showcase some of the most popular breeds in the country but will also give the public the opportunity to speak to owners, breeders and handlers about these breeds.     Show hours are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day, with Best in Show awarded at the end of each day’s judging. Also offered all five days is a Junior Handlership class with a Junior Handler Seminar given by Purina and the American Kennel Club on Sunday.
    The Canine Good Citizen Exam and Canine Eye Evaluation will be offered on Saturday. A Puppy Match will also be held on Saturday evening. The Parson Russell Terrier Association of America and the Indiana Collie Club will host Supported Entries on Saturday and Sunday. Dozens of vendors from all over the country will be offering dog related items such as antiques, collectibles, artwork, jewelry, clothing, books, leather goods, grooming supplies, monogramming and much more.
